WTH is with Blogshares?

I just got this email:

“Your 5 shares in A Small Victory were sold at $4,078.01 ea. (3 x $1,359.34 – the current price) because Andrew Hultin performed a hostile takeover using a Teen Angst (artefact).”

So Blogshares is now some sort of freaky-geeky RPG rather than just being a stock simulation? Yikes.

Via Jane Galt, here’s a nifty collection of 7000 print ads from 1911 to 1955. It’s all quite fascinating – you can get in touch with the past in ways history books won’t let you. I especially love the WW2-era ads where the theme is usually “We can’t sell you anything now because we’re making war stuff, but please remember us ‘when the time comes'”.

RWN has a new design. It’s interesting. But the 5th horseman is clearly Michele. Not only is it true, but then we can avoid that whole sexism thing again.

Here’s some great panoramic photos of Tel Aviv. Once Arafat’s dead I’d love to take a vacation there.

Football widow Kelci Stringer, having failed miserably at suing the Vikings, is now suing the entire league, the makers of the helmets, and the doctors who advise them. Next up? Suing the entire world, no doubt.

UPDATE: Michele is much, much harsher about this than I am. But funny.

James does an interesting rundown of blog traffic numbers. The upshot: Frank is doomed. Run for your lives, or at least your Ka-bar!

Michele’s gonna be sleeping, but there’s good stuff from other posters at the Command Post. For instance, this points out that Nazi resistance in Germany continued on through 1947, 2 years after VE Day. Some interesting comments too.

Not to be outdone by Mark Steyn, Christopher Hitchens just got back from a tour of Iraq. Here’s some of what he saw. Hint: not what the press is dwelling on. (Hat tip: the puppy blender).
