“To the Buick!”

Rummy’s shopping list leaks to reporters. Chomps helps find the perps. In a very very short In My World™ (Frank promises more later today).

  • Donks Gone Wild!

A Democratic lawmaker from California was caught being cranky about those damn voters. Chris Muir immortalizes it.

A Japanese businessman who’s stalking Britney Spears (I’ll pause while everyone cleans off their keyboards) is suing Spears and the city of LA. I could not make this up, as they say.

Here’s an excellent suggestion on how to get revenge for CBS’s woefully fact-deficient TV movie about the Reagans.

  • Here we go again

Glenn’s found a page which appears to be planning more DDoS attacks for tomorrow (which given the timezone shifts could be this evening US time). It looks like Hosting Matters/Internet Haganah is the target again, but in case we take any fire, bookmark the backup.

Also remember: these attacks are made possible by people’s machines being infected with viruses which allow the attackers to control them. Without compromised machines, these kids would be unable to tickle Allah’s trousers. If you’re running any version of Windows, make sure you have a good anti-virus program and check Windows Update at least once a week for new critical updates.

  • Snow out of FNSunday

Tony Snow is leaving Fox News Sunday (sounds more like being pushed actually), but he’s getting a radio show to go with it. James makes the normally excellent point that Fox is essentially trying to boost ratings by replacing someone unique and talented with an AnchorBot 5000 (“It is within my programming to turn out the news”). What he misses is that you don’t become upper management in an American company by taking risks (or if you do, you stop as soon as you’re promoted).

  • Guess what?

The terrorism in Iraq is being perped by furriners, not Iraqis. Moreover, Reuters actually even said so. Clearly the editor in charge of Amerikkka-bashing was asleep.

Everyone’s putting up spooky Halloween site-skins, so we are too. No bats though, because we like birds better (that’s Zeitgeist’s own Will getting his flap on in the new logo).

  • Tee hee

Tonight’s Dolphins/Chargers game was moved from San Diego to Arizona due to the fires in Southern California. More people showed up for the relocated game than have ever attended an Arizona Cardinals game. (To be slightly fair to the may-contain-football-like-substance Cardinals, there was no charge for tickets due to the short notice, and the stadium’s on a college campus).

  • A new terrorist threat

Michele is threatening to blow up the Internet over claims that today’s Iraqi bombings are the same thing as the Tet Offensive. There are two problems there: 1) the Tet Offensive was actually a major US victory, although many don’t know that because the media (notably Walter Cronkite) portrayed it otherwise, and 2) today’s action was, err, a heck of a lot smaller scale.
