Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)

Archive for October 30th, 2003

We got listed by Kosmic Bloggers, which appears to list blogs that mention Ken Wilber and Spiral Dynamics. Z. and I both are extremely amateur about that stuff, but it’s certainly fascinating (in particular, Ken’s “Mean Green Meme” idea provides an excellent explanation of the (post)modern Left and why irony haunts them). Incidentally, we ran into Ken by very different paths – he via musician Stuart Davis and me via a Den Beste piece.

The US economy is doing better than it has since Reagan. Moreover, even the BBC and the Times are admitting it’s mostly due to Bush’s tax cuts. Hee hee!

  • Uhhhh

Naomi Wolf claims that men no longer want to have sex with women because of porn. Clearly she doesn’t know any men. James at OTB sets things straight.

(Incidentally, I thought feminists *wanted* men to not have sex with women. Andrea Dworkin et al, call your office!)

  • Tory, tory, tory!

I don’t understand enough UK politics to make a lot of sense out of it, but this Mark Steyn piece is still quite amusing.

On a related note: Steyn will now be appearing every month in the print National Review with brand-new columns.

  • Heeh. This guy sure can’t match Clinton’s waffling skillz.
