Speech reax

Ah-nold: Not Rudy, but awesome. I’m down with the Donks being “True Liars” and “girly men”.

The Bush twins: Well, umm, I still think they’re cuties. As long as they aren’t talking.

Laura Bush: Average. Not memorable in either a good or bad way.

  • More trouble for Kerry

A flyer that he and his comrades distributed back in the 70s is back to haunt him. He wanted to run on Vietnam? Boy is he getting it. (Thanks to an email tip from Russ, who got it from Blackfive).

  • Ha!

Daschle is running a new ad in which he portrays himself as Bush’s best buddy. Nice try. And a fascinating window into what the Clintonista DNC is actually thinking (hint: it’s not good for Kerry).

  • Here’s a link to a transcript of Rudy’s amazing speech. He called out France, Germany, Arafat, and many more of the usual suspects by name, in addition to a hilarious slam on Kerry and Edwards. I nominate it for best political speech ever.

Maybe this explains John Edwards’ need for two Americas – - one where John Kerry can vote for something and another where he can vote against the same thing.

Today’s revised track is double plus ungood.

UPDATE: The 11 AM version is much more promising, but still not great.

UPDATE 2: The 5 PM track has it almost back on top of us again. Crap.

An Intel higher-up notes that Israel is their most important research center outside of the US. (When you hear ads for notebooks powered by “Centrino” technology, that was developed entirely by Intel Israel, including the CPU and chipset).

  • Oh dear

Here’s a terrific interview with one of the founders of Protest Warrior. To me, it’s most notable feature is that it reveals the existance of a group with a worse name/acronym than the Moro Islamic Liberation Front: the “Communist Underground Movement”.

Hawkins is also alarmed about “pimp” and “ho” costumes for young kids. I’m too busy laughing at the picture to get too worked up about it.
