  • Newsroom backbiting

The Minneapolis Star Tribune‘s new owners hired a conservative writer to balance out their notorious editorial page. You can imagine how well that’s going over.

Bob Woodward gets castrated live on C-SPAN by a former White House attorney. WuzzaDem provides it in handy screenshot/text format so you don’t have to bother with the video.

  • Was it gone?

I’m posting this Lileks bit for 2 reasons: 1) only he could have that conversation about Justin Timberlake, and 2) it aptly demonstrates why I now buy most of my A/V stuff at a specialty store where they actually know what they’re talking about instead of Best Buy or Circuit City.

This is like shooting fish in a barrel, but Michele and co. want nominations for the worst song of the 70s.

    The real energy crisis

Mark Steyn on some of his favorite subjects.

He oughta see Mike “Office Space” Judge’s Idiocracy, in which everyone’s stupid in 500 years because Springer guests and welfare recipients have way more kids than everyone else (it’s sort of a more PC version of Steyn’s demography rant). Fox refused to pay for it to be finished for 2 years after Judge finished filming it, and then released it in only 7 theatres. (This will sound brutally familiar to Firefly, Wonderfalls, and The Inside fans). Thankfully a DVD was released a few weeks ago so everyone (at least in Region 1) can finally see it.
