This type of thing is popular with Republican governors nationwide; several governors have floated eliminating their state income taxes for a bump in the sales tax. This has the useful property that everyone pays taxes so they’ll get a personal lesson in why Democrats suck.

CBS, along with the other 3 major broadcast networks, are suing Dish preemptively to try and get this declared illegal. I have no idea on what grounds.

As noted, their real problem is that people believe they’re in bed with the Dems/Obama enough to try it.
