   Aaaaaagh! If he thought Harrison Ford’s accent came and went on a whim, what did he think of that crazy Scot, Sean Connery trying to pronounce Russian with a Scottish accent? It reduced “The Hunt For Red October”, to a SNL parody. I think people who are intentionally funny do a better job than people who think they are being serious. Let’s face it: most Americans wouldn’t recognize an accent if it hit them over the head. Can we say hire a coach for these actors?! It has been my experience that the only actors to do consistently credible jobs on foreign accents are the Brits. They do superb Russian and German accents. Most American actors don’t know the difference between French and German accents and invariably invert them. If you can’t do it right, don’t do it at all. I’ve suffered enough. And so have you; end of rant.
