Al Franken got to write chunks of last night’s SNL, with predictable results. Alum or not, why is an active political candidate being allowed to do that?

Why, he must have got away with it because we all know those conservatives control the networks and the media!
I suppose the SNL staff will have Obama write some of the next episode. Heck, why not? He’s just as unfunny as Franken and other SNL writers.
I don’t find Al Franken particularly funny, either. In fact it would have been lot funnier if it were George Bush instead of him. But in answer to your (probably) rhetorical question: The last time I checked we still lived in a Democracy. The SNL staff can chose whomever they damn well please to write the material. You don’t have to watch.
