Virginia governor floats plan to eliminate the state gas tax in exchange for a sales tax increase

This type of thing is popular with Republican governors nationwide; several governors have floated eliminating their state income taxes for a bump in the sales tax. This has the useful property that everyone pays taxes so they’ll get a personal lesson in why Democrats suck.
