Inoperable Terran

Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)

Sure enough

The WaPo has admitted they ran the dreaded Penguin of Blasphemy strips by Muslims first to see if they’d blow shit up.

  • Yes, it’s true

Here’s a pretty good list of instances where Democrats got in trouble and the media refused to say they were Democrats.

  • Bad news for the Saudis

The authors of Alms for Jihad have gotten the publishing rights back and several US publishers are interested (I would assume Regnary is right up front on this one).

  • Ho ho ho

We’ve found the war for oil: a Texas oilman (check) lobbied an influential Congressman (check) about his position on the Iraq war (check check check!). Minor problem for the people who’d otherwise love this story: the Congressman is Ted Kennedy, the lobbying was anti-war, and the oilman basically sold state secrets to Saddam.

Since everything they do is a failure it’s almost superflous to mention the details, but they were trying to sneak into Israel and blow up a small town.

  • I am not making this up, although clearly the author is quite ignorant of the Constitution – the President is not an officer, commissioned or otherwise, and UCMJ doesn’t apply.

  • The law firm of Nixon Peabody (which sounds like an especially drug-inspired episode of Rocky and Bullwinkle) commissioned a theme song (which they insist is not a theme song), and now they’re getting cranky because the entire Internet is laughing at them. Warning: the song is bad (it sounds like a Pointer Sisters cover band, or the theme to a late 80s legal drama with Melanie Griffith) but the chorus *will* get stuck in your head.

Exit question for musical technology geeks that read this: are any of the sounds *not* presets from the Korg M1 or Wavestation? I was half expecting to hear “Universe” or the infamous Enya Pan Flute at some point.
