Inoperable Terran

Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)

BTW

Bush has broken the all-time popular vote record for President set by Reagan. Many old saws broke their teeth last night, including that high turnout means a guaranteed Donk cakewalk.

  • No “selected”

The President is the winner, of both the popular and electoral votes. Kerry’s refusing to concede, but GWB is expected to claim victory later this morning. (Incidentally, it’s midterm for Kerry so he doesn’t lose his Senate job. Edwards isn’t so lucky).

Other fun stuff: Tom Daschle is definitely gone, and it looks like Cuban-American Mel Martinez has beaten pro-Hamas academic Betty Castor in Florida, although that one’s very close and will likely be recounted.

Unsurprisingly, the French are cracking down on Muslims much more forcefully than even Frank’s Rummy could dream of. Where’s the ACLU now?

  • Florida election update

I just voted – it took about 30 minutes. There were several cute women waving Bush signs at the legally prescribed “safe distance” and no sign of the Ketchup Avenger, although one snotty looking yuppie woman (I’m being redundant) had a Kedwards sticker on her Prada sweater. BTW, Orange County used “connect the lines with a marker” ballots, no chads possible.

And of course I voted for Bush and for medical malpractice victims getting at least 70% of any settlement (the lawyers were howling tooth and nail about that one – that’s all the endorsement I need).

Halo 2, probably the most hyped game of the year, has a unique story. And by “unique” I mean “liberal as heck”, despite some edits Microsoft forced on it.
