  • Congrats!

Steve Fossett just landed moments ago in the Burt Rutan-designed GlobalFlyer, becoming the first man to fly all the way around the world without stopping or refueling. I’ll have a link once the news sites catch up with TV.

Richard Branson and Virgin Atlantic financed the attempt and have an official website for the flight here (it’s currently jammed, as you might suppose).

    Update: CNN’s coverage.

Update 2: Richard Branson and his minions are waving large checkered flags at the exact spot where the plane took off and they’re making Fossett taxi over there. Heeh!

Jada Pinkett Smith is in trouble for a speech at Harvard in which she suggests that women can have a career and marry a nice man. Her crime? Not mentioning that they should actually be rug munchers.

I’m not gonna pick who’s going away tonight, because “most of them” would still be workable. OTOH, my current top picks (which changed weekly for a while but now have settled down) are Anwar and Bo for the guys and Nadia and Carrie for the girls. (You can of course see all the contestants here).

And if you have a TV near your computer, real-time snark is available during AI right here.
