Inoperable Terran

Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)

Starting to pick up a bit…

Some fairly big wind gusts now (probably 40-45 MPHish), but we’re not supposed to start seeing “real” effects for another hour and a half or so. Wheeee.

Michael Moore and John Kerry don’t want you to see this.

  • Hmm

The 11 PM track shifted slightly south and west again. Should make it slightly less bad here. I hope.

  • Now what?

CBS announced that they’ve scrapped a 60 Minutes story about how the Bushitler™ lied and Michael Moore profited. Err, wait, that wasn’t it. Anyway, go read the sordid tale.

Check out this great photo montage contrasting Bush and Kerry. Beautiful! (And 12x drink alert, something sorely needed on a night like this).

  • Hah!

There’s a musical version of The Last Starfighter opening. That’d be something.

B.C. is in fine form. First he examines people falling on their swords for Gunga Dan, and then he brings us a great Photoshop.

  • Hmmm

Juliette wonders if Kerry and his staff are really that lame or if they’re actually trying not to win. Certainly he’s gotten substantially stupider since the Clintonistas took over…

  • Some good news

The official 5 PM NHC/NOAA track now shows it going more west and less northwest, which is generally good for the Orlando area (but potentially bad in e.g. Tampa). Hopefully that holds – all the computer models do seem to have converged to that solution. That means it’s still going to be a wild ride, but hopefully not as bad. Keep praying, everyone.

They’ve rejiggered the forecast track in a way I really don’t like.

UPDATE: The 11 AM version is a bit better. I’m hoping for a further westward push at 5…

Jeff Goldstein has a Photoshop even Allah is worshipping. In front that’s lefty blogger Oliver Willis and the ketchup princess. In back the one on the right is Burkett, but I can’t quite name the one on the left…

UPDATE: That’s of course John Edwards behind Willis (thanks E. Nough!). He’s a singularly undistinctive looking man, I’ve gotta say.

Sumner Redstone, head of Viacom, dumped a bunch of stock when Rathergate broke (and he’s a Bush supporter, to boot). Now Walter Cronkite says he’s “embarassed” by Dan’s conduct. And Conan O’Brien (on competitor NBC) did a hilarious skit involving a Rather impersonator claiming preposterous things.
