  • Figures

The House passed a bill requiring the government to issue an annual report on worldwide anti-Semetism. Naturally the State Department and CAIR are opposed.

It’s kinda fascinating how well the Jooos™ work as the barometer of a culture. You read stuff like this, you know “going down”.

This time in SeattleSpokane, natch. (City name corrected. It remains to be seen if there’s a difference in the hippy-dippy quotient between various places in Washington State ;-)

The press was severely disappointed about the Afghan elections. What side are they on again?

Here’s the Mark Steyn column the UK’s Telegraph didn’t want you to read. Wretchard agrees with it.

Boortz claims he does it every morning, but he’s got nothing on Treacher (warning: large graphics in poor taste. NPR listeners on dial-up beware).

  • In case actors weren’t enough

Slate’s thrown together a feature on who novelists are voting for. I think you can guess already, but they did include Roger L. Simon and Orson Scott Card to shake things up a little.

Kofi has rejected a request by Democrats to send in election observers. Possibly the smartest thing he’s ever done.

  • Go figure

Rush hinted at this yesterday; he mentioned that John and Teresa were paying effectively a 12.8% tax rate on $6.8 million in income (W. and Laura by comparison are paying more than double that rate on less than 1/10th as much income). Anyway, it seems the Kerrys offshore their income to avoid taxes.

Just wanted to say a hearty hello to Ian and everyone else from Tony’s country. On holiday for a week in Britain and enjoying it immensely. Watch the Ketchup Princess while I’m gone…

Hawkins has a sort of state-of-the-blogs roundtable featuring some of our favorite bloggers: Michele Catalano (A Small Victory), Frank J. (IMAO), and Bill from In DC Journal. I think he missed out by not including Puce. Or at least Treacher.

  • Nuisance

Here’s more than you care to read about Kerry’s “nuisance” comment, including some excellent insight from Lileks.

Incidentally, Rush Limbaugh played those remarks at least 6 times on his show today – clearly they’re being widely interpreted as red meat despite the “nuance” some others see in them.
