Star Wars TV

Normally I don’t post about Star Wars. Quite frankly… well, I won’t go into it. But Herc over at IGN has some interesting thoughts on who should run the proposed Star Wars tv series. Ira Steven Behr, Tim Minear, Jane Espenson. Hell, I’d watch it if any of those three were helming, but Herc had the same thought I did: we’ll probably see it run by one of the CSI armada.

Mike Melvill will once again be the pilot as SpaceShipOne makes the first of two flights needed to qualify for the Ansari X-Prize. SSO’s entire budget from zero to the first successful test launch was a fraction of what NASA spends on a single Shuttle mission, and Virgin Group has alreadylicensed the technology to begin offering private space flights in the next few years. Virgin’s first vehicle will of course be called Enterprise.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention the flight will be today at 6 AM Pacific time, which is 9 AM Eastern (or about 10 minutes after I post this).

Link via Whedonesque where one smartarsed commenter asked if this wasn’t the basic plot of 21 Jump Street.
