Inoperable Terran

Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)

Fun with album covers

A rather clever short clip in which many of the most recognizable album covers of the last 40 years come to life. (Content warning – contains grenade-launching jubblies. Also Sgt. Pepper getting blown up).

  • Parker & Stone: national treasures

Tonight’s South Park took the same tack as the indescribably awesome Rolling Stone piece I pointed to last week that nobody commented on: they played up the Truthers’ version of reality in full In My World fashion, complete with Bush and Condi laughing like Auric Goldfinger and Dick Cheney shooting things randomly with a rifle. Then they called the Truthers “retards” repeatedly. Brilliant. The Loose Change guys were freaking out that this would make them as radioactive as Scientology among under-40 hipsters, and I think that’s a very real possibility.

ETA: the Rolling Stone piece. It’s clear the author’s fairly moonbatty himself, but I think his concern about the Truthers’ effect on the Donks’ electoral chances is well placed.

  • The plot thickens

An openly gay Republican Rep. from Arizona reported Foley “years ago” to the head of the page program (but not to e.g. Hastert). Plus, a Democratic operative was shopping around the Foley story back in May. No wonder Pelosi backed off from the whole “Hastert must go, he knew in advance” thing.
