Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)

In brief:
1) 1441 was passed unanimously by the UNSC.
2) Iraq is nowhere near compliance with 1441.
3) We were patient even well after it was obvious Saddam wasn’t going to comply.
4) We were willing to pass another resolution, but it’s clear it would not pass so we’re killing it.
5) Additionally, the new resolution would’ve had a drop-dead date of today, March 17, so it doesn’t matter anyway.
6) “The moment of truth is arriving”. Bush “clearly will issue an ultimatum”.
7) Saddam is clearly guilty of violating the *MANY* previous UN resolutions.
8) The UN “is an institution” and will survive (doh), but it has “seriously damaged itself”. No, really?

The US and UK ambassadors to the UN both just were on the radio saying “fuck the UN”. And GWB has scheduled TV time for a speech tonight at 8 (EST), which happens to match up with what a lot of blog commenters were speculating on. Paraphrasing one comment from, I think, LGF: “Bill O’Reilly will never make it on tonight – it’ll be either Shep or Brit Hume all night”.

Good grief. Pep Boys (the automotive chain) is firing employees who are in the military reserves.
Contrast with Mike and Susanna’s list of employers who support reservists.

I think Anna could be a serious contender in the next Bloodthirstiest Blogger contest. I mean, nobody else matter-of-factly rattles off lines like “it’s nice to know the B83 has all the bells and whistles you could want in a hydrogen bomb”.
15 Mar
Anna has fun with the principled stands taken by the art community. Except when someone makes art that would offend liberals or any of their pet protected classes, that is. Go figure.

The Chi”Coms” have forbidden certain Rolling Stones songs from being performed live or included on the Chinese version of the 40 Licks CD. The mind boggles what quasi-Communists have against “Brown Sugar” or “Honky Tonk Woman”.
