It turns out “Troy” is a thinly-disguised anti-Bush movie. Why am I not surprised?

  • Mr. Blair Stands Firm

Good to see Tony Blair displaying a resolute stance all too often lacking in leadership around the globe.

“Every time there is a terrorist incident in Iraq or someone is assassinated, that to my mind is a reason for staying the course,” he told a joint news conference in Ankara with Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan.

Not that I’m one for conspiracy theories, but a thought occurred to me seeing all of the info regarding Nick Berg’s death. Is there a better possible outcome for the Islamicists than to, with one act:

    1. Make the right wing more upset with Arabs
    2. Make the left accuse Bush of being behind it (Berg’s death)
    a. This has the added effect of making the rest of the world hate the U.S. if they suspect that the U.S. gov’t staged this (and make no mistake some of them will be crying this from the rooftops shortly)
    3. 1 & 2 have the effect of keeping left and right at each other’s throats and that’s less attention to pay to the more insidious tendrils of Islamist actions.

    Just some thoughts.

  • Thought for the Day

“Seeing seven sides to an issue is useful in the study of
metaphysics. But men of action — and world events always have
required American presidents to be men of action — must be capable
of decisive action. A candidate for president who is incapable
of clearly expressing a single principle or goal he will fight
for is inevitably going to be an ineffective candidate. And if
he can’t even decide what to say with clarity, he is unlikely to
be able to act as president under the crushing pressure of world
    events.” –Tony Blankley

More on the fun things going on in Chad. Its fine for the RoP(tm) to carry out ethnic cleansing I guess. As Glenn says: “Well, you know, it’s not an atrocity if it’s not committed by an American. That’s international law, or something. . .” Couldn’t have put it better myself.
