Mark Steyn notes that as of May 19th the War on Terror will be going for longer than the US was involved in World War 2. (Note: full article only readable if you subscribe to the paper National Review, otherwise you just get a few paragraphs as a teaser).

  • Tonight’s AI rankings

    1) Bo Bice – Great voice even on bad material. I really don’t need to keep seeing his chest tattoo though.
    2) Vonzell Solomon – A total sweetheart, with nice pipes. And she was working as a letter carrier in Miami!
    3) Anthony Federov – He had an amazing, spectacular voice in his audition. And then he was mediocre all the way through last week, when he suddenly *cranked* on “Incomplete”, and he kept it up this week. I suspect alien abduction and replacement with Folger’s Crystals.
    4) Carrie Underwood – Oklahoma’s country cutie not only lost all sense of pitch this week, she came off as mean and standoffish. I know she’s not really this bad, but now is not the time to fall off.

Remember, for live snark as the show airs, go here.

At Universal Studios Orlando there’s a restaurant called Pat O’Briens. No relation to Mr. “I Am So Into You”, but I still did a triple-take when I saw the sign.

  • BTW

Ace (from Ace of Spades) and Karol (from Alarming News) are doing an Internet radio stint on RighTalk.com right now, with guests Michelle Malkin and James Taranto. The “live” stream runs from 4-5 Eastern time, and will repeat once an hour after that as per the usual RightTalk format.

UPDATE: Michelle was great, although Ace disappointingly managed to make it through an entire interview with her without using any Pat O’Brien pickup lines. Taranto up next…

UPDATE 2: It’s all over now. Taranto was just as sharp and funny talking as he was writing. And Ace and Karol did pretty well too.
