Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)

A sense of humor on the job

The Columbus Police Department certainly qualifies – they have a “bait car” they leave out to catch thieves. By remote control they can stop the engine, lock the doors, and make the stereo play the theme from “COPS”. Beautiful.

Kate’s got a wonderful story about public servants. Remember this next time someone tries to tell you the government should do everything.

A man who had a $100 joke bet placed on the Panthers to win the Super Bowl will make a lotta cash if it happens, since the odds were 100:1 at that time. (Via FARK)

Captain Kangaroo is dead. Michele has the best eulogy I’ve seen so far. Go read every word.

(Incidentally, I’m going to try for a No Politics Friday Afternoon, which means only non-political posts until the end of the day).

…at least today. Hey, what can I say, Kelley’s got a unique problem with it. (For the uninitiated, “Spiderman” is her young son).

If you’re going to troll Michele, try to do it for something less pathetic than being pro-France. As Howard would say, yeeearrgh!

I’m a day off this week because of having Monday off for MLK, but here’s TMQ anyway. Features include: Peyton Manning’s easily-interpreted-by-opponents gyrations, mockery of celebrity endorsements of the Nine Dwarves, and lots of reader haiku (including one making fun of the straw that broke Dennis Green’s career).
