Inoperable Terran

Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)

(Ku)Wait, wait

One little detail.

  • Only about 6 years late

President Bush repeatedly insulted a hostile BBC reporter at Camp David last weekend. Nice.

One story by the Private finally has checked out. It’s just the place, time, and circumstances were all wrong.

  • Interesting

President Bush held an all-day no-holds-barred meeting with a bunch of talk show hosts yesterday. Would love to have been a fly on the wall for that – Boortz, Glenn Beck, Mark Levin, and Hugh Hewitt all in the same room? Are you kidding me? Anyway, Boortz said on the air that they were quite mean with Bush about certain elements of foreign policy (I think we can guess which). Presumably that’s where Limbaugh is today, and I would expect at least Hannity and Laura Ingraham in there too.

  • The end?

Mark Steyn on ending a popular series. Agatha Christie did it right with Poirot. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, not so much.

Here’s Lileks’ live blog of the bridge disaster. Note especially the comments: several Minnesotans insist it was due to Governor Pawlenty’s fascist insistence on low taxes.

  • No war for Joooos!

Today’s silly smear, fresh off multiple lefty blogs. Read all the comments – someone brings up that this theoretical pipeline would have to go through at least one Arab country en route and they, uhh, wouldn’t be likely to allow it.

At least lefties are consistent. Plus: milblogger Matt Sanchez is at FOB Falcon and the Private’s mindthoughts and soulpatterns are disintegrating faster than Ibrahim Hooper on CNN last night.

  • Battle royale

CNN had a CAIR spokesweasel on, but redeemed themselves by also including Christopher Hitchens. As you might imagine, Hitch doesn’t let him get away with *anything*. Be sure to watch both videos Allah has up – the second one brings in Dennis Prager so he and Hitch tag-team the CAIRbot and it really gets brutal.

UPDATE: I just saw the rerun of tonight’s Hannity & Colmes where Mark Steyn was holding forth on the same subject. He was even more brutal than Hitchens and Prager, making sure to remind everyone that CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a plot to send money to Hamas, and that they only have 1700 members and are “a nothing organization” which “represents noone”. I’ll post video as soon as someone puts some up.

  • Amazon Prime: a great thing

(For the uninitiated: you pay $70/year and get unlimited free 2nd-day shipping on pretty much everything they carry, plus you can share it with your family – it’s really a great deal).

Investors were convinced it would ruin the company, but as anyone who has it knows, it’s just the opposite. Why blow gas driving around when you can get good prices and free 2nd-day shipping?
