Pretty self-explanatory: sign it. I also added this link to Ian’s earlier post. Its either overkill or being thorough, you decide :)

  • Bernie Goldberg, call your office

The press is horrified that nearly 1/3rd of the people in the Iraq press office may have ties to the Republican Party. I think that says more about them than it does their subject, as usual.

VDH wants to know why we still have 150,000 troops in Europe. Me too, although Rummy definitely wants ‘em out ASAP.

  • I hate network TV

My favorite new show, Wonderfalls, has been canned by FOX after only 4 episodes aired. (WF was produced by ex-Buffy/Angel/Firefly writer Tim Minear). Yeeeearggghhhhh!

edit: There is a petition to bring WF to DVD here.

  • More bad news for Kerry

The Army is meeting all reenlistment targets, including among reservists. Most interestingly, units that have been deployed lead units that haven’t. Clearly a majority of soldiers aren’t in it for the free college, regardless of the “conventional wisdom” (which is frequently neither).

Michele attempts to wrap up the Kos thing here. (Capsule: he put up a post cheering for the deaths of the Americans in Fallujah, and then tried to weasel out of it). I find her post most interesting because of the section which inadvertantly points out just how badly Blogads are rotting freedom of speech on blogs. I could note that Blogads were invented by a lefty and that’s probably their real point, but this isn’t Conspiracy Theory Thursday ;-) My thought: there’s a 50+ year tradition on both sides of going after advertisers on offensive media things. I think there’s nothing wrong with that. It works less often than you’d expect anyway.

Anyway, for me, the reason this is actually news is that Kos frequently portrays himself as a high-level DNC insider. He’s made posts specifically at the direct behest of Terry McAuliffe, and he claims to attend high-price high-access DNC fundraisers and the like on a regular basis. There is a “gentlemen’s agreement” that the CAIR / ANSWER / Rachel Corrie brigades are in fact a fringe element rather than a major part of the Democratic Party. Antics like this do severe damage to that theory.

I mean, besides cancelling all the good shows like Angel: there’s a record amount of direct anti-Bush pro-Democratic campaigning in prime time.
