Irony is the enemy of the post-modern left(tm)
If God unleashed a plague of locusts on a socialist country, the BBC would report that, in spite of having no pesticides, the glorious heroes of the revolution have always loved feeding birds and through good planning it is easier now. Stroll on over to the Anti-Idiotarian for more BBC fiskings on their Cuban Aids report.
Sgt Stryker details it all in Loading
Up For A Blackout. Which leaves out the detail that the (D)’s
obstructionism supports years of EnviroExtremist prevention of both upgrades to
the existing system and expansion of additional capacity… but doesn’t
stop Shrillary from blaming it all on Dubya.
commieslut editor Katrina vanden Heuvel of The Nation posted this loo floater on their website.
“For the legal view of this tempestuous trademark dispute, I sought the counsel of Peter Weiss–a widely respected trademark and human rights attorney. His suggestion: “Al Franken should countersue for damages under Section 11 of the US Code of Civil Procedure, charging abuse of the legal process.” The downside though, Weiss added, is that ‘maybe he’ll draw one of those new Bushie judges who haven’t heard of the First Amendment’.”
“Abuse of the legal process?” You mean like the countless ecoterrorist, anti-Ten Commandments and Boy Scout harassment lawsuits? By my count 99% of the lawsuits The Nation supports are abuses of the legal sysytem. What the Left cannot get by subverting the legislative process they get by using their proxies in the regulatory bureaucracies and by legislating through court order.
The brain-stem thinkers of Sante Fe City Council have decided the city has too much business. In an effort to keep businesses from hiring more than 24 employees and drive away that already do, they decided to increase the local minimum wage 65% for any business with 25 or more employees. Curmudeonly and Skeptical and Frontpage have at ‘em.
The Starbanker’s analysis: Go Baby Go! There is nothing like complete economic collapse of a city to illustrate the Progressive ideals in action. I especially like the part of the law that puts business owners with 24 employees in prison if they hire a temp worker for 30 days without cranking up everyone’s wages 65%.
France settled with Libya for $34 million… now
that the USA & UK are getting a $2.7 Billion settlement Chirac

Yes… they settled but want a cut of ours…
I’m against the settlement as Acts of War
Could Chirac and Villepin( who James Taranto

The ongoing Donald Luskin battle against the inanities of Paul Krugman is getting better every day. I was reading up on the latest today over at “The Conspiracy to Keep You Poor and Stupid,” it’s well worth the read if you have a few minutes.
If Al Franken is reading this I take full credit for the title and your lawyers can reach me at the Intergalactic Capitalist.
This week I am trying to get sued simultaneously by Al and Fox news, can you imagine the site traffic I would get. I just hope the souvenir t-shirts and coffee mugs are finished in time.
Fox News, you are making complete asses of yourselves. Anyone with a brain in their head would have waited until all the books were sold and then gone for a piece of the royalty action. Don’t you have any lawyers around the house?
From “Across The Atlantic”
With Qusay and Uday dead, he has turned up the lesser known relatives. What a hoot.
Okay, who stole the penny from the fuse box? It looks like the Northeast Power Grid hired someone from the Baghdad Power Company to operate the distribution network. Since they banned smoking in New York, do people still carry lighters and matches?
(Update by Ian: the puppy blender has very complete info on this thing, check it out).
Another chapter in the ‘Go Home Billy-Billy Won’t Go’ saga is being played out this week. The man for who fictionalized legacy building and history are one and the same, Bill Clinton’s latest California tour has the air of a pickled Rolling Stones comeback. Clinton’s detour from writing his book and dedicating his nifty Garage Mahal library to defend ‘Governor Gray In Crisis’ is typical Bill; an opportunity to return to the spotlight, offer up his personal brand of political silage and spruce up his own tarnished legacy. Even if the lyrics are a bit outdated and the music slightly off key.
It’s not the way ex-presidents usually conduct themselves but Bill takes his roll as ad hoc head of the Democratic Party very seriously. Besides, there’s a real humdinger of a party going on in Calipornia and Bill is something of a party animal when there are loose women about. And there are a few running for governor who may need some one-on-one political tutelage.
But, don’t be fooled by the innocent country bumpkin persona; Bill Clinton is still the most carnivorous political animal on the planet, with plenty of experience slipping legal shackles. And accordingly, associates have described Clinton as taking a strong interest in the recall election.
Several people who have talked to Clinton described the former president as distressed by what was taking place in California, and suggested that Clinton — like many Democrats — saw it as part of a pattern that included the impeachment and the recent attempts by Republicans in Texas to redraw congressional district lines in a way would eliminate some Democratic-leaning districts.
“There are a lot of people in the party who are connecting the dots: What’s occurring is a conscious and well-heeled effort to try to undo traditional democratic processes,” said one of Clinton’s associates.
A bit like the pot calling the kettle black.
Another Demomeme shot down. Just when the Democrats thought they could safety criticize the inability of intelligence services to do they job because of they had neglected and sabotaged their organizations for decades, the CIA and FBI rise like Phoenixes to get the job done. Just in from the War Front via ABC.
” A top al Qaeda member and a leader of militant group Jemaah Islamiyah, Riduan Isamuddin — also known as Hambali — was arrested as part of a CIA undercover operation in the last 24 hours. The operation was in cooperation with an undisclosed Southeast Asian country that wants its participation kept secret, officials told ABCNEWS.
The CIA called the arrest the “most significant capture since that of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed,” who was captured in March and is believed to have been the military commander al Qaeda’s global terror network and to have masterminded the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks on the United States.
In the past, the CIA has called the Indonesia-born Hambali the “Osama bin Laden” of Southeast Asia.”

Gaddafi wants Libya to ally with the U.S. against Muslim Extremists. Wow I accidentally typed Muslin there… You gotta watch for those cotton fabric jihadis…
Not much I can say about this… *shiver*… ok I thought of Tank Girl ;P
From Ann Coulter Today:
The Democrats’ laboratory: The host organism dies
IN JUNE 2002, the liberal American Prospect magazine was hailing California as a “laboratory” for Democratic policies. With “its Democratic governor, U.S. senators, state legislature and congressional delegation,” author Harold Meyerson gushed, “California is the only one of the nation’s 10 largest states that is uniformly under Democratic control.” In the Golden State, Meyerson said, “the next New Deal is in tryouts.”

Does anybody remember the Mt
Kilimanjaro fraud? Ooooohh the ice is melting blah blah blah… all
discredited… all manufactured agenda-science. So here again the fraud is
perpetuated and the complicit media piles on… just blocks away on Lake Tanganyika… fewer fish? in August? amongst starving Africans? But Zimbabwe’s starvation issues and the regional food
deficit is all forgotten because it must be global warming! Their ‘brilliant’
investigation, done without the benefit of 33 years of data, never-the-less,
a combination of higher air temperatures and slower wind speeds have reduced
the amount of mixing between the lake’s surface water and deeper,
nutrient-rich layers. As a result, they say, algae growth has declined about
20 percent since the 1970s. Less food for the fish means fewer fish, and
catches in the lake have fallen as much as 50 percent.
The retraction for the fraud will be presented, if at all, on page 17 in one
paragraph 6 months from now.
Oh… I’m full of shit right? No agenda for these folks here you say? Well feast
your eyes on this propagandist quote:
"This is an indication of one area we haven’t recognized as a region that
might be heavily impacted by the activities of developed countries," said
Catherine O’Reilly of Vassar College, the study’s lead author. "Other
lakes might be undergoing similar changes."
If it was an unrecognized region what the hell have you been doing studying it
Catherine? Chicken little says ‘other lakes might be’… what? over-fished? But
it’s all about the ‘developed countries!’ Oh my? Let’s disassemble capitalism
today… for the algae!
Couldn’t be over fishing in impoverished Africa? Oh no… they’ve got a weekly
scientific journal ‘Nature’ and a ‘Vassar-girl’ that are above such
issues as ‘sales’ or ‘reputation-making’ and they’ve dismissed overfishing and
common sense… because it’s all about GLOBAL WARMING!
Is there a Johnny Memeseed in the Democratic Party? It seems like every day a new batch of “memes” are thrown against the wall in hopes that some will stick. This has been driving me to the point of strangling the next slogoneering turdwit Democrat who opens their mouth. It is obvious that the true intention of the Democrats and the Left, in general, is to rewrite the entire lead-up to the Iraqi battle in the War on Terrorism. Every other day we are presented with a neatly packaged “reason” for the “war.” The package contains an unsupported strawman and the daily talking points to discredit it.
Some of these are clever, taking blurbs from speeches out of context to outright fraudulent rewriting. The “imminent threat” strawman was an example of the former, taking one word from a sentence from the SOTU that actually said,”Some have said we must not act until the threat is imminent.” A sentence that made it clear that Iraq wasn’t an imminent threat, is then turned into the launch pad for strawman that implies the exact opposite. An example of the latter is the famous sixteen words or rather the fifteen, after the Left carefully removed the word “British.”
Here’s a trick to filter out these ridiculous memes, set you brain to automatically screen out anything that follows the statement, “We were told…”, and respond by snap-kicking to the asshat in the groin while screaming, “I heard the original without the commie-f###wit translation!” However, when the idiotarian thinks you are this stupid…well this is a general audience site so I’ll let you fantasize about what you’ll like to do with him
“It’s ridiculous — Lewinsky performs a sex act on the President, therefore we attack Iraq.” ~George Clooney
Misha gives Colin Powell the what-for, using a particularly brilliant 80s musical reference as the lever.
So BBC… what was your first clue? His name? Was he lost on an island when he gave ‘on the scene’ reports the Americans weren’t driving across Baghdad International Airport? Was he still on a ’3 hour tour’ when he gave ‘on the scene’ reports the Americans weren’t toppling Saddam’s statue downtown? So when he uses ‘secret sources’ to ‘expose’ the sitting government no need to check them eh? That gravy-train tax on Televisions in the UK might be a goner now boys I’d say it might be:…
BBC… Bye Bye Commies
Tom Sowell gets it perfectly correct. Neither Arnie nor an army of Arnies will be able to put humpty-dumpty back together again any time soon.
Jesse Jackson reminds
us that his
non-partisan, and therefore tax-exempt, PUSH organization absolutely believes in
Civil Rights and therefore is against California Proposition 54 that would
"prohibit the state from collecting data on a person’s race, ethnicity,
color or national origin" as this would prevent race from being used to
impose race based solutions to race based problems regardless of within who’s
mind these race based inequities exist.
Jesse also spoke for the
‘double-no’, in a non-partisan, and therefore tax-exempt way, that Gray Davis(D)
should not be recalled by bigoted-rightwing conservative Republican trying
‘ to thwart the democratic process’, in a non-partisan, and therefore tax-exempt
way, regardless of what the people of California think because
frankly… they aren’t qualified.
A new internet worm is making its rounds. MBlast isn’t your ordinary malicious product of sick and demented cyberidiots, it is a product of caring and kind souls doing the world a favor. Yes indeed, these people truly believe that they are benevolent criminals.
MSNBC reports: The worm contains two messages in its code. The first apparently is a “greet”—a message of greeting or recognition to a friend or peer—while the second takes aim at Microsoft: “billy gates why do you make this possible?” the second part of the message says. “Stop making money and fix your software!!”
I would suggest that if you know who developed this worm, make sure the gun cabinet is locked if he visits. “You left these guns unlocked and I murdered your family, see what you made me do!”
“This is the moment for President Bush to act. With all of his preconditions now met, Mr. Bush should order the American troops parked on ships offshore to join the Nigerian peacekeeping forces already taking up positions inside Liberia. That would strengthen the hand of American diplomats in talks now under way in Ghana to shape the transitional government that will take over from Mr. Blah in October. Securing the peace will require the demobilization and disarmament of rival armies and the formation of an interim government that would balance the contending factions under strong United Nations supervision. Once that interim government is established, American military forces should be able to turn over peacekeeping duties to a broadly based United Nations contingent.”
Sounds plenty easy doesn’t it, however I suspect that it will be a tad harder. What with the NY Times expertise at regime change of late, I could be wrong.
Two groups claimed responsibility for the attacks, Hummus and
Al-Squaksa, their competing spokespersons claimed ongoing provocations
in the occupation of lower floors they claim as their own…
