Credit card fraud is almost over?

The US is the last major country still using magstripe credit cards, but that’s going away in favor of tappable “chip cards” and phone-based systems like the about-to-launch Apple Pay.

Here’s the introduction and explanation of Apple Pay. The upshot is you tap your iPhone on the card reader and it goes through such that Apple doesn’t know what you’re buying or how much you’re paying and the store doesn’t know your name, credit card number, or CVV code. Since the store doesn’t know your card details, they can’t leak them to Eastern European hackers anymore (Target and Home Depot both had this problem relatively recently).

  • So they’re basically making shit up about Republicans. Figures.

Also, I hope this guy gets elected at some point simply because “Milton Wolf” is the best name ever.

It’s getting notice from quasi-actual media now. I wonder if CAC told Ben Smith that his name is a verb on the HQ?
